Yonkers plowing update

From David McKay Wilson, Yonkers reporter:

Since 5 a.m. this morning, 30 salt trucks, and 13 sanitation vehicles with salt spreaders and plows have been working on the 360 miles of roads that criss-cross the state’s fourth largest city.

By mid-afternoon, icy conditions were cropping up on some streets, and the salt trucks were trying to keep up with the changing conditions.

“We want to get back to the main roads to hit the ice before it gets a chance to get bad,” said city spokesman David Simpson.
